I'm Maura - a social care professional and facilitator with a background in trauma-informed care, holistic health, wellbeing, and yoga. I support health and social care professionals who want to build balance, resilience, and wellbeing.
-
I hold a Degree in Social Care, a Master's in Social Research, and qualifications in holistic health, wellbeing, and yoga.
-
I have over twenty-five years' experience in social care, mainly supporting young people in residential and aftercare services, which has given me a deep understanding of the realities of frontline practice.
I teach on the Certificate in Trauma-Informed Care at UCC and previously spent fifteen years teaching Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) to health and social care professionals. These experiences - alongside my years of frontline work - gave me a deeper understanding of the ongoing challenges and pressures faced by those working in health and social care, and led me to create the workshops, retreats, and supports I now offer.
My background also includes many years of training and experince in therapeutic bodywork, and I continue to offer a small number of one to one sessions within trusted partner organisations.
Supporting women is also a core part of my work. I care deeply about creating meaningful experiences for women - many of whom are balancing busy lives and caring roles, with little time to prioritise their own wellbeing.
